Apsynergy deployed Salesforce and Pardot at Travel Tripper, a New York based, full-service hotel web technology provider. Travel Tripper powers properties with innovative technological solutions, including RezTrip, the industry leading central reservation system and hotel booking engine.
Alongside the “usual suspects” of standard objects that allow Sales people to shatter their sales targets (Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Activities), Apsynergy added custom objects to handle Travel Tripper projects (such as, for example, turning on their award-winning hotel booking engine, Reztrip for a new hotel client), and the off-the-shelf Zendesk integration with Salesforce to allow tickets created by customers through Zendesk to show up in Salesforce.
That’s the reality of a true 360° view of customers.
Data Migration from two different independent CRMs to Salesforce
One of the more “interesting” (read “nail biting”) aspects of the project was the fact that we were migrating not one but two CRM systems to Salesforce. These systems offer XML files as exports in order to capture all the data to be modeled into Salesforce; CSV exports from these systems, for instance, do not offer all activity records.
Deploying a new 100% Lightning customer.
We made good use of the Navigation Menu which allowed us to add the menu item for Zendesk tickets in the left menu in Salesforce. Lightning was launched initially without this feature but Spring ’16 delivered Navigation Menu which allowed us to add the Zendesk logo.
Account hierarchy – not available in Lightning for now – was an issue which we managed to circumvent by creating a junction object to manage many-to-many relationships between Accounts.
Contacts affiliated to multiple Accounts
In the previous CRM systems we were migrating to Salesforce, Travel Tripper had contacts affiliated to multiple Accounts. Given that we had to launch in April 2016, we solved this by rolling out another junction object to handle these “affiliations”, similar to that available in the Non Profit Starter Pack. This issue will be addressed in Summer ’16 with the new generally available feature called “Associate a Contact with Multiple Accounts”.
Travel Tripper can now reap the benefits of the leading CRM Cloud-based services for their sales teams worldwide. Happy selling!
